Your station is basically the same as an Ambient Weather WS-1001 or newly updated WS-1002 or in other words a Fine Offset HP1000 clone. Maplin seems to be out of business. They were just a reseller anyway.

If you are not seeing any data on the console then you may have a defective unit. You could try the reset button. I would advise to download the instructions for your station and read them (download WS-1001 instructions if you can't find one for your specific clone model).

You don't need a station ID unless you are intending to publish to Weather Underground.

No station comes with a station ID. You have to set up your own Weather Underground account and set up your own station ID and password with them.

Once you have that you enter those station ID credentials into your console setup menu and it will start uploading to Weather Underground.

If you still can't get data on the console I would recommend a new replacement with one of these (since you are in the UK).

If you read up on the WS-1001 you'll find that lots of people experience broken sensors. Some people choose to replace the sensors if they are handy. But maybe it isn't worth it and rather you should replace or return in your case if you can the whole thing.
