Blue system supplied ferrites
« on: November 06, 2017, 02:56:31 PM »
Hey all, and thinking of you all over the ditch, in the USA, with the issues you are currently dealing with nationally. :(  Now I am the proud owner of a blue system, with the case also on the way.  Question about the 3 ferrites also ordered.  Going back to the Red system days, with those supplied ferrites, they had a knot in one of the leads to indicate the + lead??  but the ones I have received with the blue do not. Explanation????

Polarity doesn't matter in our application, especially if using Three Delta...
If you wanted to get some basic visual line on the direction of a signal from just looking at the signals,
using 2 ferrites at 90°, then they should be in phase... otherwise, since we're TOA/TOGA, it makes no difference.

The 90° dual array, if loops phased the same, would present as below on a 'directivity' lobe,
but Blitzortung could care less, since it is not a DF system.
Can be handy for tracking a noise source, however, under proper conditions.
