I'm very new at this and I'm sure I have a setting incorrect, but I cannot find a solution online anywhere.

Oregon WMR-200
VWS - 14 P52
I have it linked via USB to a computer that is always on and does not idle down.

I have been online with weather underground about 2 months now and I have stabilized my setup and feel it is putting out very reliable readings.

Rain collector has been sitting on my desk since new for a month now. Batteries in, connection is good. But it uploads a magical 1.51 inches of rain everyday to weather underground even though the editable data says it didnt.

I think I have looked at this too long now. I think I have checked every setting I can think of but cannot find a fix. This is a powerful program with many settings I have no idea of what they are for.

Suggestions? My primary goal was to collect wind data from my site, the rain guage is a secondary item to me.

Does it upload a new 1.51 inches each day?  Does the console show this 1.51 inches?  It may be spurious radiation from the computer or monitor.  Take it off the desk and move it away.  See how that goes.

Nope. The console shows no rainfall for the day. If i jiggle the rain catch, it works as it should, and registers.

I guess it could be radiation from something else. I will move it way from the other things to see if it helps.

Thanks..

You might want to research "ground loop."  I just read this post http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=3148.msg24737#msg24737.  It has to do with weird wind gust readings, but you never know if it could cause rainfall problems also.
