Spambot detector and privacy VPN
« on: March 04, 2017, 06:18:40 PM »
FYI, I was just presented with the n'th degree anti-spambot test when I connected with the site.  I assure you, I am a real person.

I'm guessing that the reason for the extra hoops is that someone else was using the same IP-hiding VPN service that I do, and they were running a spambot that came from the same IP address.....

Very likely.  We use httpBL for auto-check about spambots from ip addresses.

Sorry you were 'tarred with the same brush'.  We do have a large number of spambots trying (and failing) to register on the site.

Glad you passed the 'entrance exam' though :)
