Okay... progress... of sorts. I think I have enabled port forwarding. Used TZO. The camera setup was preloaded for it and they give you a year's free service. Did get a Dyndns accout but the camera was set for TZO and wouldn't let me enter in dyndns... Anyway. I think the port is forwarding and the account is wxoakland.Linksys-Cam.com The problem is, that going there returns the camera's administrative panel. Yeah, the image shows, but I don't want the world to see the image in my control panel. I suspect I'm missing things and this just doen't seem right. It would be great if soeone could ealk me through all this on the phone. But can you guys get the image at http://wxoakland.Linksys-Cam.com? It's getting dark and soon there won;t be anything to see.

I have no problems viewing it. Looks nice and cold. Did your software include an HTML file to let people view the web cam?

UPS guy was here... Is it just the picture or is it framed in a Linksys administrative box that has tabs for home, setup, etc.

It was the administrative page. But you're OK because it requests a password to make changes. Look for an HTML pg that came with your software install. It will be for others to access the camera.

There's probably a folder created when you installed the software. Check in there. UPS guy bring anything good?

Your domain name is working fine here too.. I'm looking at the camera and see all the snow!
Inside the camera's admin settings there should be a place to set an interval ftp image upload for use on your webpage as an updating static image as well.
I was making some screenshots to help guide you through the router setup but you got that all figured out! Congrats!
I need to note here that if you stream out to alot of viewers at once from the camera you're home internet speed will take a hit. The concurrent user limit on the camera will mitigate that somewhat.
If you prefer to talk over the phone I'd be willing to talk with you about some of the other setup. I'veset up several webcams and streaming solutions for various people and places and I'd be more than happy to provide whatever help I can.

This isnt a perfect solution but it gets away from people seeing that they're inside your camera.... Here's a little page I did that will allow you play your skycams stream without showing off all the linksys camera admin buttons and stuff.. http://dragonneo.net/~bigcountrywx/wxoaklandskycamplayer.htmlto set this up on your site. Build a skycam page and paste this into it <OBJECT ID="MediaPlayer1" width=640 height=524
classid="CLSID:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95"
codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/ controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=6,0,02,902"
standby="Loading Microsoft Windows Media Player components..."
type="application/x-oleobject">
<PARAM NAME="FileName" VALUE="http://wxoakland.linksys-cam.com/img/video.asf">
<PARAM NAME="animationatStart" VALUE="true">
<PARAM NAME="transparentatStart" VALUE="true">
<PARAM NAME="autoStart" VALUE="true">
<PARAM NAME="showControls" VALUE="true">
<EMBED type="application/x-mplayer2"
pluginspage = "http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/MediaPlayer/"
SRC="http://wxoakland.linksys-cam.com/img/video.asf"
name="MediaPlayer1"
width=640
height=524
AutoStart=true>
</EMBED>
</OBJECT> <h2>Click the play button to start the skycam video stream</h2>
It works but you have to click the play button to make the stream start Kevin Palivec

http://wxoakland.com/livecam.htmlIt seems to show video from about 30 minutes ago... moved the camera from pointing outside (in the dark) to my office. Isn't showing up. Still dark with my neighbor's lights showing from acrosss the street. I have ordered the camera we talked about... http://stardot-tech.com/netcam/index.htmlWhat I want to do is stream it from my site... Thanks so much forthe phone call. Will be talking more, I'm sure.

make sure you click the little "play" button.. for some reason it doesnt start streaming unless you click the play icon.. I should but it doesnt and sometime you have to click it several times... I think it has to do with how long it takes to start getting the stream.
the stream is very smooth BTW... also We can see your Weather Station on the wall!
the Camera's FTP setup info it on page 26 of the User guide. set it up to login to the server where your webpage lives and upload an image into it at set intervals.. it sends when it detects motion but if you set it very sensitive it'll send at whatever interval you select.... I suggest 1 min or so

Mike,
The clock on the camera is running about 50 seconds behind my PC clock which is synced to the navel observatory in DC once an hour. So I assume your camera is either buffering that amount or your PC clock differs from mine by that amount.

No.. rebooted computer, unplugged power and ethernet from camera.. setup can't find it. Camera IP not found Wonder if it has something to do with IP address from my Inernet provider changing? Isn't it Dynamic?

The camera's internal ip address is separate from the outsdie ip so an isp ip address shouldnt cause a problem.
Did you give the camera a static ip address? I mean. Did you set it to something specific like 192.168.1.222 or is it getting an ip address automatic from the router?
also.. since it's wireless, is it connecting to the router? go into the router and under the wireless admin settings there should be some kind of a tab to show wireless "associations" anything connected to the router's wireless should show up there. I'm thinking it's lost the wireless link to the router

I did give it a static address... it's not found. I am leaving the camera plugged directly into the camera via Ethernet.

try this...
on the pc goto Start> Run > in the window type cmd and hit return. you should get a black command line window. in that window type ping 192.168.1. ^^^ the ip address you gave the camera
hit return and see if you get any ping replys from the camera
