Switching hosts to a better solution that is Linux based ( Hostgator) any way I am having some trouble getting the files to upload to the correct folder. According to them it needs to upload to the public_html folder and currently it is loading to the root home folder.

Pardon the late question..but it's been a long night Smile after giving up on vws and going to bed I get called out by dispatch for a rescue repeater that had taken the night off Smile so I figured now was as good a time to ask as any LOL!!

Thanks! Have a Good Night Smile

Here's how I have mine set. Under

Internet > FTP Upload File (Send)

I have

/domains/wxbeacon.com/public_html/vws    (you might leave domains off on your account)

where vws is my main folder for VWS webpage files.

Under

Internet > FTP Login Settings

I have

www.wxbeacon.com  under Server Name. I alo put

/public_html/vws

under Initial Directory (not required) even though it says it's "not required".

Also set to Passive Mode.

Regards,

Kevin...

Thanks a million Kevin !
Currently I am using the actual address 174.xxx for the server name ..incase DNS has not fully ran it's course
I have /public_html for the folder location
I also have passive mode ticked...but it seems like setting passive mode stays in the task bar of VWS a lot longer than it used to..

I still have nothing interesting displayed at www.smythweather.net  but that could be due to the index.htm start page not being defined
for their server..I'm still trying to figure that out also.

Thanks again!

How new is your HostGator account? You're right...if it's very new, the DNS might not be resolved yet.

For an index.htm page, try putting something simple in for now. Maybe:

Code:
<html>
<body>
<h1>SmythWeather Coming Soon!!</h1>
</body>
</html>

Does HostGator have some kind of user control panel for editing files, creating folders, moving files, etc.?

They do have a parked page service.. I may have every thing good on this end as of10 min ago.
I had to change the upload location to my domain instead of what they originally sent.
I am using Open DNS and I can get the page current now but some of the other sites have not seen it yet I think..I hope that's related to
DNS propagation not being complete.

It was really throwing me for a loop there for awhile when it kept uploading to the wrong folder..Evidently it does that when using the actual IP address versus a domain name that is resolvable.

Now all that's left is my email which I hope goes quick..Gmail has been awfully slow here this morning..and I never know when my ISP Email ( Synacor) will be working Smile   Ahhh the joys of .net life LOL!!

Thanks for the help and ideas Kevin!
I believe we "Whipped it "  Smile Smile

I still an lacking data on Midatlantic Weather Net and AWEKAS... Tag files are the same as before and updating as scheduled.
Maybe the DNS hasn't updated for them yet...Other than that looks like I am free to explore other scripting and goodies to make it look better....   Smile

Are all the folder names exactly the same as before and with the same spelling? If so, I'd wait a couple days and see if it resolves itself.

When you registered with MAWN and AWEKAS, did you use your numeric DNS address or your domain name? If you used your numeric address, then you'll have to contact them. (I ask because earlier you mentioned using numeric IP addresses.)
