Do you still have your old data? The license info is in the file called license2.bin, in the setup directory. You can copy that file to a "fresh" installation and be good to go.
To do a "fresh" install, follow the link posted somewhere on this forum to the latest beta version download on the ambient site.
I believe that once you purchase a VWS license, you are entitled to upgrade and move it around at will.

I do still have old data in the old computer. I am going to transfer that data using a USB to USB cable. Hopefully I won't have any problems there. I was just wondering how I register the new version. I have downloaded version 14 and have already installed it. I can't hook up my station yet. I had to order the USB connector since this new computer doesn't have a 9-pin receptacle. I was just wondering how to register this new version. I tried to use the old registration number but that didnt work. thanks for the Quick reply!!

I think it may be best to un-install the demo version you have. Copy over the files from the old PC. Then run the "upgrade" version.
If I understand the directions right, the first time you try to run the installer after copying the files over, it should ask you to un-install. Allow it. Then run it again and it'll install over your files and keep your data.

With the newer versions of vws you do not need to run the installer twice. Once will surfice.

If I remember correctly, no. Vista support showed up somewhere in one of the V14 patches. Might want to check the wiki space at ambient

Microsoft stopped supporting ME . That is the main reason I had to buy a new computer. I was having problems and I could get no tech support or anything. It doesn't seem right for them to just stop supporting one of their products. I was really afraid about VISTA but I have been pleasantly surprised so far . Thanks all again

No Thank God they stopped supporting ME. It was a short lived disaster. Full of bugs, anyone who had it was lucky that their computer even worked. 98SE was nice and stable and suddenly MS starts the advertising juggernaut about a new and revolutionary operating system called ME which about 8 months later was over shadowed by the brick solid, chunky Windows 2000. Funny we have XPPro running nice and quiet and the advertising juggernaut started up about the revolutionary Vista which will be snuffed out next year but a much better albeit rehash of Vista called Windows 7. Sounds like MS is going through the ME disaster all over again.

FWIW, Dell is still selling XP Pro on selected models. At work, (Dell Partner) we have yet to sell a Vista computer... And, at least in the Business store, the computers are refreshingly free of all of the cr@pware that the mass market computers seem to be laden with these days.
(Yeah, I know, some people hate Dell... ) If you have a legal copy of XP, like off an old computer, Dell also sells a nice Optiplex 755 N Series without an OS on it. To keep M$ happy, it comes with a Free-DOS disk (and XP drivers CD).
I built a nice weather/home automation/etc computer around one with a quad-core processor and XP Pro. It would scream on Linux...

I'll second that, my computer was out of action more than it worked.
