Hello,

I have just started to experiment with this neat little programme, but it is having a strange effect on my internet connection.    I have to restart the computer every time to reconnect.

you said   " Also changed the upload interval to 60 as that is the min you can use."     -  I assume you mean that it cannot upload any quicker than this?

I wanted it to upload every 10 seconds   60 is not much use to me, but the motion detection might be an answer.

thanks for sharing it,  David

You can probably upload at any speed you want to a site that will let you send at that speed and your computer is fast enough to ftp and get another image and ftp again ( you will probably end up in a bottle neck uploading at that speed I might be wrong ) what I meant was Weatherunderground only want you to upload every 60 that is what I read in the instruction on there site.

Don't know works really well on my xp machine. Maybe it a firewall or router problem is the port open on your router. Don't know much about what you running on your end.

Am just trying webcam xp now, and worked immediately   -   http://freespace.virgin.net/d.vidbooth/cam_1.jpg

another neat programme.

I have used " active web cam " in the past, but you have to pay for it:  http://freespace.virgin.net/glasson.sc/slip.html

It's been so long now since I first started this thread... but since I no longer have YawCam installed on my PC, I guess it didn't work out for me either...

Funny - FWINK gave me grief.  I settled on VFWGrab.  Not on broadband so YMMV.

I just wish there was one program that does it all IE: overlays and such, multiple cam or ftp uploads, works for everybody, is memory usage stable, and of course FREE.  <<<<------Am I asking for too much.   Confused

Does anyone know if yawcam supports a 4 cam capture card to use more than 1 cam. If anyone is running 2 or more cams how is the live streaming. And could you list your cam page.
Thanks Gene

Has anyone tried it?
I'm an old guy and not very nerdy but I wound yawcam easy and simple to use. I paypaled him some money after I was sure it wouldn't crash anything.

Hi,

Have been using an older version of WebcamXP for awhile. I tried v5, but couldn't get it to work with the Toshiba IP camera. Thought this was very strange, since the older version works fine.

I've been trying YAWCAM for about a week and a half with my Logitech QuickCam 9000. I have had repeated BSD's (Blue Screen of Death). Have tried many things, but nothing seems to work.

Has anyone else seen and dealt with this issue? I have switched to Fwink for now, but prefer the YAWCAM features.

Stu,

I am using the logitec 9000 and the yawcam program.  I have not had a crash.

I have an old Dell desktop with XP.  I use WUHU to upload the weather data.  I use yawcam to upload the webcam.  I have a dialup modem.  That is about all I use that computer for.

Perhaps you have some other programs that conflict with yawcam?

Also, there is a user's forum for yawcam.  Perhaps you can ask there:  http://www.yawcam.com/forum/

Good luck!

I had too many issues with Yawcam (Java?) so I dropped it.  What are the features you like in Yawcam?

I am wondering if having the QuickCam options set to "Keep QuickCam on top of other applications" and Launch QuickCam Ribbon when webcam is in use" may have been the issues.

Thoughts?

I like the ability to take the saved jpg's and link them into a file. Also, the ability to save successive files with different labels. Both allow me to watch the effects of time on my Shark Oil Barometer http://stu-in-flag.net/barometer.php.

Sorry. I meant that you can link the individual jpg files into a single movie file.
