I'd like to buy a wireless outdoor temperature sensor that has the capability of automatically recording max/min daily temperature extremes and keeping them in a database for review.  I'd like to keep weather records but I'm often away from home for about 7 days at a time, therefore I'm unable to look at a typical max/min unit daily and reset it.

Any suggestions?

Aside from a cheep weather station and a piece of weather software I don't have any suggestions.

More expensive, but perhaps something like this is an option for you:

Not sure on the budget yet, just looking for a logging max/min thermometer that resets itself daily.

A Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station would do everything you want to do and more. However, you would be looking at spending over 400 dollars. The station will log the min/max readings of temperatures as well as many other weather variables for 24 days.  This is without the use of a computer or another software program. Before I purchased the Vantage, I used a radio shack thermometer that would keep the min/max readings but it was not specific to the day, rather only since the last time you reset it. The Davis may be worth consideration. It seems that most people, including myself, purchase an inexpensive piece of equipment only to upgrade a short time latter.

Don't know if you're still looking, but here's something that might work for you.

Dallas 1-wire sensor from AAG - $22 bucks.  Free software.  Needs a PC though.
