I wish that Ed would add for example from vws_install.exe to vws_install-P42.exe . Then you would know what you are downloading ....

Agreed. There was one time I think it jumped 3 p versions in less then a day when he was having a really bad day. I suppose he has a reason for posting them like that but I have yet to figure it out.

I wish Ed would add the Version to the file. Under Product Name he could put VWS & Under Product Version he could put 14.xxPxx To see what is their now Right Click the file and click Properties and click the Version Tap NDS Weather

Just a quick question whilst on this thread. I upgraded from VWS 13 a few months ago when I got my WMR200. I currently have version 14.00 p33. What would be the advantage in upgrading to more recent version, ie p42?
Alan.

Hello Andrew.
Thanks for your prompt reply. At the moment I don't appear to be having any problems with version p33, so might just leave it for the moment. They do say if it ain't broke don't mend it.
Regards.

Alan, I agree with "if it aint broke..." That is why I am still on 13, there is nothing I can see in 14 that will help my 968. I know you needed it for wmr200 support. And many of the vws pro's seem to still be on 13 and even 12...

P42 was not a beta version, I think that P33 was a beta version. I would at lest give P43 a try as Ed is fixing issue with the WMR200/100 NDS Weather

Alen, Are you still running Window 3.1 or Windows 95 or even Windows 98? Sometimes you need to keep up your software only to keep up with the OS, or is it the other way. You paid for this software and are getting free updates and even major versions; this is no longer to rule. Be glad the Ed is not charging a $20.00 fee for every major change and $10.00 for a minor version change. NDS Weather

I run XP, and only had to upgrade to 14 because the WMR200 wasn't supported on earlier versions. Alan.

NDS Weather/ bcavnaugh I agree its great that Ed produces updates free of charge and attempts to improve the product. I dont know if I would compare the changes between the VWS versions 13 and 14 with large OS upgrades over the years. Yes you should be on XP at least, but I dont think anyone would say the same for Vista. If the 14 testors and users had made comments about this version that it was a must have, I would upgrade... but again by looking at what Ed put in 14 I dont think any of it would really be a benefit to me as a wmr968 owner running XP. Now if he put alert email authentication and humidex in it, I would definitely jump onboard. Andrew Alen,

I think Ed, eventually puts out a good product (with a lot of help). I don't agree that it's great that he produces the revisions free of charge. I do think it's great that so many folks are willing to take the risk of trying something that is unknown and unproven, and at times screwing up everything in there computers. Those folks should get the thanks. Without the risk takers, freely testing, noting flaws and making suggestions to improve the product, the product would never become anything. Free of charge-- no, he is getting his program evaluated free of charge. I think the thanks should be the other way around. But I am never going to run for president, just my thoughts. Bill.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
