WD $timeofnextupdate
« on: April 06, 2014, 12:50:16 PM »
Just turned on the next update option in the console script and noticed the display always reads 'Next Graph and
Forecast update @ ~ 00:20'. $timeofnextupdate in testtags.php is, of course, stuck at 00:20.

Where exactly in WD is that item set so it updates properly? Yes, I've looked, but can't find it.

Thanks.
John

$timeofnextupdate is a standard entry in texttags.txt in the default Saratoga templates WD-plugin kit.

Ken's website has a detailed description of how to set up WD to process send testtags.txt to the website as testtags.php.
See http://saratoga-weather.org/wxtemplates/setup-WD.php
The setup is also described in README.txt in the WXtags-template-files folder in WD-plugin.zip

So if $timeofnextupdate is not working,
1. check on the website that testtags.php is updating (if not use Ken's instructions to get it uploading).
2. check that testtags.php contains $timeofnextupdate (if not, add it to testtags.txt in your WD setup).
The default line contains;
Code: [Select]
$timeofnextupdate =  '%timeofnextupdate%'; // Time of next Update/Upload of the weather data to your web page (based on the web table update)

Thanks for the reply, but, as mentioned above  ...

1. $timeofnextupdate in testtags.php is, of course, stuck at 00:20
2. See #1
3. Also went through Ken's setup and could not find anything specific for this tag (which doesn't mean it's not there - just didn't see it)

Thanks.

The 'secret switch' is in Weather-Display, Control Panel, Web Files/Web Page, Web Files Setup#1 TAB
in the 'Web Table/ HTML' group of checkboxes labled "Show the time of next update".

So many switches, easy to overlook one :)

Hope this helps...

Best regards,
Ken

Which, in addition to the fact that these eyes are gettin' old, explains why I missed it. I was scanning all the pages there for unchecked boxes - that item is already checked.

Other thoughts?

Thank you.

You'll also need to set an upload schedule via FTP & Connections/METAR/NOAA' button on the Control Panel and select the Web Files Upload times and Avg/Ext TAB

Set the overall schedule there so it can compute the 'time of next upload'.

That, too, was already set - every 5 minutes, which is why I'm confused.

Thank you.

Looks like a mystery for Brian to solve :)
I'd suggest posting the problem on weather-watch.com and sending him your WD ini settings for diagnosis.

Best regards,
