Topic: Saratoga Template with Davis Datalogger IP

Hi everybody,
i'm building a site to my friend using Saratoga Template.
I've set Wd to work with this new features but i've a doubt.

My friend told me that actually he receives all weather data in real time also with pc turned off (using Datalogger IP).

Here is the question.
Is it possible to have real time data (as the site above) also with Saratoga Template and pc turned off?

Sorry, no.  The weather software on the PC is required to process the weather station data and upload to the website.

The question of the one millions dollars, almost the half of the users of Davis want this but is almost impossible!

The issue is that there is no software available for the template to 'listen' to the IP packets emitted by your IP datalogger.  The IP datalogger is hardwired to send info to Weatherlink.com (likely through an HTTP GET like WeatherUnderground RapidFire uses, or through some other proprietary protocol they've not disclosed).   That's why the template set needs the weather software (running behind your local router) to connect to the IP datalogger, fetch the packets, process the data, and feed your website with FTP.
