Changes to WU non-USA, non-Canada forecast website design
« on: March 19, 2014, 07:19:53 PM »
Just noticed a few minutes ago that my, and other, UK sites now have this up on our WU Forecast web pages:

"If this was a working non-USA, non-Canada forecast, then it is likely that WeatherUnderground has changed website design and you need an update to the WU-forecast.php script to handle this changed design."

Hi Tony,

I have the same problem now. It happened sometimes but usually everything came back again within minutes.

Unfortunately, it happens when your webserver tries to get a new forecast from WU, but WU is updating them at the time (and returns a page that is not parseable by the script).  Give it a few minutes and try a reload (with ?force=1 on the URL) and it should get the updated forecast at that time.

The error message was left in the script from a long time ago when WU was using NOAA/NWS (USA) and EC (Canada) forecasts which had different formats and so weren't processed by the script.  Now that WU is doing their own 'Best Forecast', the format is the same world-wide, so the WU script really works anywhere now, and fails only when WU is updating their forecast for the area.  With a future WU-forecast.php script update, I'll change the message to reflect what's really going on :)
