Hello.

Twice this month I have had very strange outside maximum temperature readings. The 7th and the 21st have shown 114.8c. The time recorded has also been very strange, one at 150:67, the other at 50:34.... on a 24 hour clock! I should add that the minimum and current temperatures have been correct.

I don't run my computer and weather station 24/7, but my WMR 200 does have a data logger.

I have only had this problem since I upgraded to version 14:00 p30.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Alan.

Heres what I think happens. If vws is updating it's files or obtaining info from the station and you shut vws down. It can cause eronous data to be written to vws.

The cure. Leave you computer running.

Hello Anthony.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I would like to keep my computer running, but unfortunately it's a laptop and I don't think it wise to run laptops permanently.

Perhaps you or someone else may be able to advise me when would be the best time to shutdown.

Thank you tomcj2. It may be possible to run my laptop 24/7, but not practical for me. I use it for other things at a different location.

did the wrong data occur when the missed history data , at start up of VWS,  was read from the wmr200 ?
(running the program all the time then would get around that problem)

If it happened because of what I said in my first post. It would be difficult to tell just what vws was doing at a given point. So you might shut vws down a hundred times and it never happen. And it could happen the next time you shut it down. And GWB also makes a good point.

The odd temperature does only show on my VWS history files, and not on my station console history. I think your advise to run 24/7 is the only answer.

Many thanks to everyone for your help.
