I have had wx station hardware problems throughout the history of my VWS install (it usually doesn't get to -4 and +140 degrees F in CT in September on the same day!), and would like to clear out all my old history and start again. Is it as simple as stopping the program, deleting the data directory, and starting VWS up again?

Thanks...

If you still have your registration key you could uninstall VWS and then delete the /VWS directory, then reinstall.  That would also take any custom web templates you might have made with it but you could back them up to another location and copy them back into the template files.  You would also need to start from scratch with your settings as well with this approach.

I'm not sure about just deleting the data directory.  You might need to uninstall and reinstall VWS to get it recreate the directory and run without locking up.  But if that works it probably would save you from having to re enter your settings again.

That would be a start. But don't forget about the NOAA, Archive & other dirs that contain data. They would also need to be deleted.
