Thanks for the welcome.  I must admit I stumbled across this forum a while back, and it was kind of eerie, the names, many of them were the same. and setup is almost identical as well.  It was kind of like the bizarro world episode on Seinfeld....

Cue Twilight Zone theme...

You have entered into the neutral zone between matter and anti-matter.  As long as you don't stick your hands out both sides of the zone at the same time you'll live to enjoy it!   toast

This looks like a happy place. Glad I found it. Lots of good info was lost at the other site but I am sure in time it will be populated here. Thanks for the new home.

Thanks Chris for your effort and time.
I guess there will be no more beta testing?  I really enjoyed doing that.
I guess the only way that it could be done is if people periodically checked the link were Ed posts the newest version.  I would surmise that we can still submit problem reports through the link also.

Problem reporting:
http://www.ambientweather.com/viwestprre.html

Recent version:
http://www.ambientweather.com/do30tr.html

If this will still work, can a moderator over here create a "VWS Beta Testing" thread?

I've added a 'VWS Beta Testing' forum as a child board under "Virtual Weather Station Software".  Enjoy!

Best regards,
Ken

Thanks Ken!

Maybe at some point we could talk Ed into generating a mailing list or notifying one of the moderators when  new version is released for testing.

Any chance of getting Ambient to endorse this board and allow use of the logo?  Or at least to link to it from their support page?

As most of you know I was also a member of the Ambient Weather Forum and also a moderator. I was a member since sometime around 2002 and was a moderator for the last, almost year. I have been a member here since the original Wx Forum. I have also been asked my Ken to be one of the moderators in the VWS section and have accepted his offer. So I will do my best to answer any questions any one might have there and in any of the other areas.

Sorry Anthony but I would work very hard to squash this idea. I personally don't want to do _anything_ that even implies that we have any affiliation with any specific manufacturer. That independence from any commercial interest is at the very heart of wxforum.net's existence.

EDIT: Specifically, I'm talking about the use of the logo. I wouldn't have an issue with Ambient linking to the forums here  Wink

I emailed Ed last night and told him he was welcome to point people here. No response yet.

I Just went to the Ambient Wiki and posted a link to this site in hope that it will bring some more lost people over here.
