It's time to start the search for the WXForum.net Featured Weather Website for Spring, 2008, so please post your nominations (with a short description about your nominee) in this thread.

Please list your nominations in this thread - it certainly can't hurt for you to describe why you think your nomination is deserving of this honor.

Don't forget that it is perfectly OK to nominate someone who has been nominated in the past but was not selected! We've had some very deserving nominees, and close runoffs!

Some criteria to consider when making nominations:


The visual attractiveness of the site
Ease of navigation
Quality and quantity of useful or interesting information
Educational value
Distinctiveness


While not a hard and fast rule, sites that only use the unmodified default web page template that comes with the software, while absolutely useful and functional, may not cross into that next level to warrant featuring in this manner. Please try to address these areas while nominating a site.

We'll run the nominations through Tuesday, 05-August-2008, then start a new thread for polling on Wednesday, 06-Aug-20088. The polling will run through Tuesday, 19-August-2008.

This site's listing of NOAA weather radio stations is the best on the web.  They started compiling long ago, and I think the listing is a great service.  They have a station map that WU does not have, and even list "INTERACTIVE NON-STREAMING AUDIO"

The rest of the site is top notch as well - including the cool lake water level indicatiors

Trying to build a weather web page, I guess between hear and TOP I have looked at between 400 & 500 web pages to try and get some ideas.  Now that really makes one confused, not that I have not always been.  There are some really nice ones.  Hope I live another 20 years or so, so I may get in an acceptable category.

Jeff has a very nice site IMO and has a lot of useful information for his state as well has the nation. He is a big contributor to the weather community both at HamWeather, GRlevel3, and others. He develops a lot of his own weather maps and information as well as other plugins and scripts for numerous programs. He also offers a lot of affordable services for weather web sites. So that is my nomination.
