Sad If StormLab doesn't soon get its act together they are going to get left behind. I used to use them solely but since they were lagging behind with no real updates I started looking around and found GRlevelX. I have uninstalled StormLab. No use in using anything so out of date. Their forum is almost down to nothing. They refuse to answer any questions about a new version. So long Stormy.

They have always had issues. My opinion for what it's worth is that GR3 is far and away the better choice. Better features, better customization and personalization not to mention the graphics, and the support forum is very active and always helpful. Very Happy

I think Stormlab is looking pretty good personally, what does everyone else think?

It's pretty much GR and everyone else. Nobody has brought GR any competition.
Kind of surprised no one has stepped up to offer something else.

I think Stormlab has some potential. I own GR3 and I think I may add the basic version of Stormlab to my arsenal....Hey Ocala, while you're on here, do you still use Nexrad3?? Is it only for Florida??

Yes I still use it. Mostly just to upload images for my smart phone.
No it's not just for Florida. Nationwide.

Joseph just click view radar. The box that comes up gives you the option of using a single site, meaning all the Nexrad sites. Or you can choose an area map. An area map is one that you define so if you haven't made any that option will be blank. From there in the same box you pick the product you want to display and either a static image or a loop.

The one drawback is that you can only use a color as a background. That wasn't an issue for me as I have always preferred black anyway.
It's been so long since I DL any shape files it's hard to remember but I think after DL them you have to import them into the program. Click on the help file and see what to do after DL the shape files.

Yeah black is what I always use to...Same thing for counties and highways and such?? I know it's not a computer issue because the South Florida default radar setup loads fine Smile

I made an area map for your general location. The has data from KFCX,KJKL,KPBZ, and KRLX.
Having data from 4 sites does "exaggerate" the data a bit so you have to take that into consideration. It is helpful though to see outflow boundaries from storms out of your local radar's range. I'll keep the link up for a couple days. The loop runs about an hour.

Occasionally it just says that the program has encountered an error and needs to close and asks whether I want to send an error report...Next time I see it I'll print screen it...It's happened 3 times since I opened Nexrad3 for the first time around 8...I have alot to learn about this program but what you did looks awesome!!! I dont see a help topic for editing color tables, is it easy to do??

That error may because of your computer. I think I remember you saying it was an older unit. I have never encountered that error before. I'm just guessing on that error message.
As for the color tables it's not like GR3 at all. Not even close. You have to select the color you want for each dbz value. There is a rgb selector where you can customize what colors you want.
Play with it tonight and if you need some help tomorrow I'll see what I can do.

I see you found the 3D feature.
To filter the radar there is a box in the view radar window. It lets you put the value you want to filter but you have to check it to make it active.
