Topic: WMR200 - VWS displays 823.6 kmh wind speed at times

This comes up about every month, impossibly high wind speeds I suspect it is WMR console settings and VWS conflict - anyone help ?

Yes, mine showed 634mph, the 200 throws out spikes at times, no reason I could ever detect, so go into VWS Settings, the Range and set a high end at 50 or so and no more problems.

I have had some wacky peak wind readings as well.  I suspect it's the datalogger built in to the WMR200 console that is causing the conflict with VWS.  I am going to try a WMR100 console and see if these and other strange occurences stop.  I have ordered one and will report back my findings.

My 100 is 6 years solid and I'm just testing it as a parallel system running WD for the sailboat guys. Your suspicions of the data logger are probably well founded. The first 200 was totally whacked out, couldn't even keep a consistent 15 min logging cycle, but the 100 seems very stable and a much better receiver.

Many thanks for the responses, it helps in just confirming my suspicions on the 200 console. I will try the Range alter.
