I received a newsletter from WU today promoting this Rainwise pkg. deal. Looks to be a pretty good deal too!

Same here.
Wonder how much TWC is pocketing from this promotion.
Yep, let's just use all the PWS owners as spam targets now.

There stations are nice, just don't like you can't separate the rain bucket from anemometer. my .02

It appears that the wind sensor assembly is removable so the temp/baro/rain stuff can stay down where it belongs and the wind stuff can go up where it needs to be.

I think the chances of getting hit by lightning are better than the chances of hitting the powerball.   #-o

I got this promo as well and found it interesting.  I wonder if WU is subsidizing the price reduction at all?

It seems to me that the target market for this ad campaign is unclear. The email is only sent to existing PWS owners.  Owners of lower quality stations might be willing to take the offer to upgrade, but it seems that most of those people are budget-limited and so would not consider it.  I'm not sure that many Davis owners would bite as a Rainwise station addition or replacement would be more of a lateral move for them and it would be incompatible with their existing Davis equipment.

This offer really needs to be targeted to people interested in purchasing their first station.

Massive FAIL because of that.  No better than WL IP.

I queried RainWise about that and got a reply (a positive one at that!)

I purchased the unit using the promotion. I have three stations operating at my home. Two Davis (Vantage Vue and VantagePro Plus) and now the Rainwise MKIII. I broadcast my weather data to several services and the data is received and rebroadcast just fine.

Has anyone here used the flag pole mount?  Or has anyone successfully separated the wind assembly from the temp and rain sensors?
