I've just finished setting up a Olympus SP-500UZ camera. I also have a Stardot Netcam XL running.

A few years ago I bought this Oregon Scientific WMR112A "outfit" from Costco, but never got around to setting it up. I am wondering if there is a way to tie the output from the weather gear into one of those cameras. It looks like it is wireless but I'm not sure.

Any help much appreciated.

I'm a newbie so be gentle please.

You're mixing oranges and apples.   No, a weather station can't output to a camera.

Welcome... Y9ou can do it a few ways.

Upload the camera image to your website and display it separately from your weather data.

Pre-process the image and overlay the data on it with something like Imagesalsa and then upload it to the site.

Post-process the image and data on the site's server with a PHP script.

I just talked with a guy at OR Scientific. He says the Sensors on the WMR112A use a 2.1 protocol whereas the new units use 3.0. I was hoping to use my old sensors on a new desk top station and from there via USB (etc) to the web.

Guess not

Bummer

You could get a WMR968 console.  It works with those sensors.

Neat!

Looks like it has an RS232 connection for the computer too.

Thanks I'll research it.

That sensor chart link could be handy as a sticky in the Oregon Scientific Hardware section.  Think

You should have no problems.  It's what I am using.  It's not bad for the price.

I have Weather-Display.com working with my WMR88A - cheapest PC-enabled OS WS I believe. It handles webcam including IP cams very well. Here is mine:
