Howdy all...I am looking for advice on a weather station setup for my new home I am building and was hoping that there were some "weather nerds" that could help.  Here are my 3 criteria: 1. Under $1000, 2. must have iphone app, not a website that I have to go to, but an app I push a button and get my home's weather info.  3. Something that will with stand the Texas sun...it seems most models have a plastic shroud, which would last maybe 3 years in the Texas sun before it because brittle and breaks.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated...pouring concrete soon so I need to get wire chases and antenna mounts ready.

There is a varitey of stations and software out there that you can use.  The popular brand around here is a Davis VP2 or VUE.  There are other brands you can look through on this forum and see the pro's and con's of each.

If you get connected and start sending data to Weather Underground, there's an app for android (I don't know about iphone) where there's a widget that stays on your home screen that displays current conditions and temperature.  If you touch it, it shows the current data from your weather station.

Good luck and enjoy your adventure!  Smile

I can also confirm that Wunderground has an app for the iPhone.
However, you can't see all of your weather station data (at least as far as I have figured out yet).
It will show the following:
Temp, Wind Chill (Feels like), Wind, Humidity, Dew Point, Visibility, Pressure, Gusts, and the location of your PWS.
It does not show daily rain, rain rate, UV, Solar, etc.
Also, I wish it could show graphs of those.
If someone knows differently, I'd love to hear.

Cool weather app for iPhone that is built for home weather stations.

I have no ties to it, just a happy user and would like to see more PWS add their data.

I'm also looking for a weather station with a iPhone app and also be able to put it online so other people can see it. I'm looking at the Acu-Rite Pro Weather Center with Acu-Link Remote Monitoring. What do you people think is that a good one or can you recommend any others around that price.
