Hi all,

It's been quite a while since I posted here. Most of you probably don't remember me.

My wife and I are considering re-locating to Davidson North Carolina. We have lived in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts since 1987 and have loved the summers here though the winters are starting to take their toll on us. We were wondering if anyone on the forum can give us an idea of what the climate is like in Davidson, especially the severity of the heat in the summer. I noticed that today they are expecting temperatures above 100. I'm beginning to wonder whether we would be trading long cold and snowy winters for oppressive summers. I really dislike high temperatures and humidity for long periods of time. I guess we would just be living, traveling and working in air conditioned spaces for the months of June through September.

Here is the seasonal averages for Davidson

I have a friend who lives in the mountains in the western part of the state. Because he's higher up the temps are cooler. I am guessing that since Davidson is in the middle part of the state in flatter terrain the temps would be hotter. Also not sure how the waters of Lake Norman would affect the location either.
