So, I'm out cooking on the grill tonight between thunder storms and look up to check out my annys and see these guys riding the direction vanes on my VP2 and WeatherMonitorII. We have quite a few ruby throated hummingbirds hangin around...one feeder by a front window, another hanging in the back yard, plus lots of flowers to work on also. NOT the best pics........Jack

I put out two feeders for them over the weekend and already have a few hummers coming to them. They like to perch in the trees out front. Also had a robin using my rain gauge as a lookout. The pointy wire hardware cloth I installed now seems to have broke her of that habit. Fortunately my sink strainer screen kept the bird dirt from getting to the mechanism.

One day I noticed that the wind was not recording. Upon investigation I discovered that the anemometer was knocked over at a 90 degree angle. I could not imagine what could have caused that. Then the next morning I spotted this fellow on the utility pole. I think he is suspect #1.

Same here, they love to perch on the wind vane. Fortunately they only weigh around 2 to 6 grams.
