Though WV isn't nearly as bad as out west where the wildfires rage, we have been way below normal for rainfall this year, and hadn't had a single drop in about 10 days until yesterday Smile 0.23" fell, and then we got a little more (Haven't looked yet but probably around a tenth of an inch), the rain is great to have  Cool

I just read where Acapulco has received over 16" since Friday. Too bad some of it can't be shipped up your way. Wink

Wow!!! Though I have mixed feelings about global warming, the increase in temperature has seemed to produce some crazy whether. Just the other day, West Pensacola, Florida received over 21 inches of rain in 24 hours from a NON-TROPICAL storm! Shocked

We are a ways north of you, but we were in the same boat. Hadn't had any rain in 12 days, and only two instances of .01" since June 2nd. Then yesterday we got 1.29 inches, with over an inch of that in less than an hour. Then today we got another line of storms come through late in the day and received another 3/8" of rain.

I'm on sandy soil, so I watched as my soil moisture graph showed a rapid rise in moisture and then it started drying again as the rain went right on through. The Akron-Canto area just SE of us is over 8" behind the average rainfall already this summer. I'd like a lot more, but not all at once.

We've been 3-4 inches below normal for the year since April....We gained some ground in May, but since mid May we have been very dry

as you can see from my signature banner, not much rain for six months into the year.  Tomorrow, I am weeding the garden early, and runnning the garden hose out to the fruit trees.. not ideal, but the moisture levels are terrible.

Yep, I've been having to run the sprinklers, too.  It sure had dried up lately.  There seems to be a stubborn high pressure area that just won't budge.  Hot and dry.  Yuck.
