My phone/internet connection

I have been in my house for 12 years. I have 'net and phone issues every so often.

Noticed this week that every time it rains- my ip address resets every 10 minutes.

The Centurylink/Quest/NW Bell repair man showed up today and was awe struck.  The box was wet on the inside. I told him it was not closed and it usually had a plastic cover over it. That was removed and just today-I put a garbage bag over it to see if the rain was the issue.

Can anyone else tell me what the problem may be?

Dr Obbins:

If you look in the bottom left corner of the first picture, one of the blue wires looks like it may have a loose connection. That would explain the intermittent connection.   ;)

I think the answer is quite obvious, there is just way too much open space in the box as indicated by the first pic.
What's happening is that the signal is slowing down significantly when it hits all that air.
Have them jam in, I mean install about 1-2 thousand feet of wire to fill in that gap, and you should be good to go!   :-P
