Well I must say, I am annoyed a little, GR2's smoothing capabilities still work on my computer while GR3's does not... d'oh! Should have picked GR2 d'oh! d'oh!

They are designed for different applications.  GR2 and 2A are more for storm analysis while GR3 is a more general purpose application. GR3 has more product options than GR2.

You really need GRL3 and GR2A.
