I have been working on the cumulus program for a few days now, and am ready to set it as my homepage. The current url for the cumulus index page is www.fitzweather.com/cumulus/index.htm, and I want it simply as www.fitzweather.com

In order to do this, I am going to try and find a way to change my current homepage to www.fitzweather.com/blog

Does anyone know how to change links like this???

Thanks! Cool

I know you've been doing a lot of workk on your site, and you have lots more to do.  So while you're doing it, note that you have the sun coming up at 7:19 pm and setting at 9:44 am.

Sorry if that sounds nit picky.  It's not intended in that way.

Check your Longitude.  You have it set as  E 81° 09' 35" it should be W

Unless you've moved and didn't tell anyone!  Smile

Yeah not quite Larry Laughing

Is there an option somewhere where you can select a file as the homepage? I looked under my hosting control panel and all I see is redirecting

Upload all the files from Cumulus to the root directory, I think that will work.

It will depend on how your web host does it, but I could change my domain name to point to any directory/sub directory on their server.
If they give free sub-domains your Blog could be on www.blog.fitzweather.com as well as www.fitzweather.com/blog

Hi Joseph,

Axelvold is correct; move the Cumulus files and folders from your Cumulus directory to the root directory.  To have your blog appear,  just add a link to your blog page to the menu on all the Cumulus pages.

You can also put a blank index.htm page in your root directory that simply redirects all traffic to the desired sub-directory (or even another domain). Just Google "html redirect" or "html page forwarding."

Have you got cPanel on your hosting?

You can do everything you want under the Domains section.

If you go the redirect route, be sure to use a 301 permanent redirect and use a sub folder (.com/sub-folder), not a sub domain (blog.domain.com). This should all be available in your hosting as previously noted.

"Got it going good now, thanks everyone!!"  I don't understand this. When I click on your website icon, I get a page not found display. What exactly are you trying to show and when?
