This may not be the correct forum and I apologize if it's not. Please point me in the right direction.

Along Interstate 80 through Pennsylvania I've seen a number of professional weather stations. Some are at overpasses while some are on the sides of the road. They all appear to be the same. I'm curious to know if they are state or county run and if the observations are available online somewhere?

I have not seen any obvious identifiers on them granted, I'm not slowing down or stopping to identify them. I have poked around the state DOT site and couldn't find anything.

I saw this about PennDOT's stations and their RWIS system.   http://www.eol.ucar.edu/projects/hydrometnet/pennsylvania/

Via the link above, I was able to find this site: http://pasc.met.psu.edu/MESONET/metadata/

Unfortunately, trying to access a Mesonet station returns an error. I'm getting closer though...

I had no problem getting to the PA Metadata Main page:
http://pasc.met.psu.edu/MESONET/metadata/
From there, every choice returns an "Internal Server Error"

I was able to find http://pasc.met.psu.edu/MESONET/currentdatachoose.html
But it looks like "current data" is from Dec 2-3 2009.  Perhaps funding got cut for public access web server? Evil or Very Mad  Too bad, it looks lik it was a great resource.

BUT this page http://www.eol.ucar.edu/projects/hydrometnet/pennsylvania/ has links to lots of PA weather resources. (not all links work though)
