With the extreme weather the country has been experiencing, especially over the last year, wireless carriers and the federal government have teamed up and created a new system to automatically warn people of dangerous weather and other emergencies via a special type of text messaging to cell phones.

But, but, I like my weather radio! All the neat sounds it makes when a storm with golf ball sized hail is coming my way! And the sound of the voices when I turn it on.

Although I agree with Chris and like weather radios, I think for the average "Joe" that dosent have a weather radio, this will be a great tool to help save lives Smile
