Hi Scott,

Just noticed this on this version that my Current Solar Energy display was showing this earlier this morning.  Where do I look for the parameters for possible fix for this display?  The rest of the day seems to be okay as the day progresses.

See attached snap shot.

Stan

The solor energy is based on the maximum value of sun for that time of the day.  So that could be very correct for that time of the morning!

Stan,

I haven't found a way to center it yet, I have a hard time since I'm no where near any body of water that has tides so I can't really check it out on mine!

Scott

Stan,

The dial looks good there!  Nice job making it into a gif!

Scott

Looks great how do you get the silver/grey look of the dashboard???
Thanks Scott for the comment.  It is a png format for now.  Don't know if gif format is better or not.  I still have issues with the dial not being centered vertically between the text and the bottom boarder of the box.  Sometimes it is centered but most of the time it kinda rests on the bottom tangent to the edge.  Is there a way to center it all the time?

Thanks for all the support and improvements to your dashboard.

Steve, hope that you made contact with Chris for info with the background that I PM'ed you earlier.

Hi Scott,

Thank you for the replies.  I'll let the Solar do its thing and not worry about it and hope it is not a solar sensor issue.

Okay on the Tide dials.  I finally got the dials in .gif format so now I have them in jpg, png and gif formats with transparent background.  Maybe I should work with it more so that I could just crop out the background instead of being transparent and see if that will make it centered more often. I will keep you in touch with any progress on this.

Thanks again for all and hope that you will be able to take this version off beta testing.

Hi Scott,

It was pointed out in the WD Forum that the Max Wind Gust time had an underscore in it.  See my attachment from my dashboard.  Is there a possible fix for this?  Looks like it is coming from the clientraw data.

Thanks for all again.

Stan,

Yes, it comes from WD that way.  Brian would need to correct it.  There are several dates/times that are in different formats... makes it hard to work with sometimes! I could write a function to remove it, just no one else mentioned it till now!

Scott,

Here's (I think) another 'not mentioned before' item. It has to do with the METRIC | IMPERIAL switch at the top. I received some emails from users who are confused about how it works. Most are saying it's 'backward'. This is a snip of what I wrote back to one of them...

Quote
...you can click on either link, active or not, and the display will switch to the other mode. Example; if Imperial is blue (active), you can still click on Imperial and the display will switch to Metric. Click on Imperial again and it will switch back. The whole item - METRIC | IMPERIAL - acts as a toggle, not the individual words as one would expect.

Make sense, or do you need more?

Thanks.

quick question and i am sure it is something i have - now running 6.6 and for some reason when the webpage refreshes i lose the C off of the Gizmo temp setting - can anyone tell me what i have done wrong with it.http://www.carrowhawny.com Replaced the two gizmo files and it is working as it should.

Also in the Daytime/Nitetime area I have °°C displayed instead of °C I notice on a couple of sites if they are running imperial it shows as °F whilst those on metric show °°C

I have a a record high of 3-Apr-2014 showing for some reason as well but again I suspect that is finger trouble on my part.

Just to say many thanks for this great set of scripts - brilliant!

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the reply.

Niko found a possible solution from the WD forum. Add this line somewhere, but I don't know where:

maxgusttime  = clientraw[135].replace("_", "");

Seemed to help with the under score issue for the max gust time.

Catch you later,

It will have to be done that way, since the delimiter in the clientraw file is a space.  Unless you wish to use another character to replace the underscore.  I'm guessing it would be quite the undertaking to change the format of the file on Brian's side.  Not to mention all the scripts that expect it that way.

yeah,the _ is there because the time format you have set in WD to show am/om means has a space in it , i.e between the time and the am/pm
and there cant be a space in the clientraw.txt file
(i.e that particular bit of info in the clientraw file is taken from what shows on the main screen)
(and If I change it now, as BigOkie says, others might be affected)

Hi Scott,

I think I found the place to insert this line to replace the "_"  It is located in the ajaxWDwx.js file in this area:

//clientraw[140] = 20.2;
      ;;;set_ajax_obs('ajaxProgress',rand+'wspd','in WindSpeed');
      wind        = parseFloat(clientraw[  2]).convertWind(); // Wind gust
      gust        = parseFloat(clientraw[140]).convertWind(); // Max wind gust in last

minute
      windmaxavg  = parseFloat(clientraw[113]).convertWind(); // Max avg speed
      maxgust     = parseFloat(clientraw[ 71]).convertWind(); // Max wind gust
      maxgusttime  = clientraw[135].replace("_", " ");              // Max wind gust time
      beaufortnum = ajax_getBeaufortNumber(clientraw[2]);

   // Wind gust
      if (maxgust > 0.0 )
           set_ajax_obs("ajaxmaxgust"   , maxgust.toFixed(dp.Wind) +' '+ uom.langWind);
      else set_ajax_obs("ajaxmaxgust"   , 'Calm');

   // Max wind gust
      set_ajax_obs("ajaxwindmaxgust"    , maxgust.toFixed(dp.Wind) +' '+ uom.langWind);
      set_ajax_obs("ajaxwindmaxgusttime", maxgusttime);

   // Max wind gust No UofM
      set_ajax_obs("ajaxwindmaxgust2"    , maxgust.toFixed(dp.Wind));

I put a space in mine to separate the time and am/pm.

So don't know if you can also do this with your Alt Dashboard versions or not.  At least it is a work around for now.

Thanks all for comments and suggestions on this issue.

Hi Scott,

In addition to my picky-picky above, I have another.

We had a record high today (104.4° here, 105° 'official'). The New Record High banner came on correctly, but W3C complained about the coding...

Quote
document type does not allow element "img" here
</td>
</tr>
<img src="./ajax-images/NewRec_HIGH.jpg" alt="Record High"/> </table>
</td>

It's obvious what's wrong, but I didn't want to mess with your code.

Thanks.

I have loaded the new files and it seems to be working well with the exception of the Soil Moisture graphic.  It is currently requesting SM.gif which does not exist (I think)  here is what I get when I ask my browser to open the file as another file.  The requested URL /ajax-images/SM.gif was not found on this server.

My site is www.allshouse.net/wx.php

Any help would be appreciated.

Couple things...

Your Testtags.txt needs to be updated to version 1.07 and then the additional tags added to the end of that.  That will fix several of the missing readings.

Next, it looks like sensors 2-4 are not working with Weather Display.  Sensor 1 has some huge numbers in the history readings that don't fit with what is normally there.  Clear out the bogus numbers in the history of the soil sensor (edit the text file 52012vantagelog.txt and others if needed) and also the record files.

You should be good to go then.

Scott

Could someone enlighten me on where I have gone wrong with the sunshine hours tab on the Alternate Dashboard - if you go to http://www.carrowhawny.com/wx/wxreports/wxsunhoursdetail.php? you will notice that there is only sporadic data prior to Apr 1st and none since the 1st April.  I am assuming this is something I have done.  I have also put all the necessary files of this great script int he root folder and still get the same error.

Any pointer as to where I have gone wrong would be gratefully appreciated.

Phil
