I uploaded a vid of my daughter doing a tap routine to "boogie woogie bugle boys...".  I marked it unlisted, so it could not be accessed by anyone but the family members I give the URL to.   When it was done processing, an alert popped up.

"Video blocked in some countries. "

I clicked. It said ""Bette Midler-Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy [Single Version]", sound recording administered by:
WMG
BFM Digital
INgrooves "

Which is odd because its a remix, with different versions in it.

90% of the stuff you see on Youtube is a copyright violation.  Try searching for an actual music video and you get hundred of titles with the exact music, but other video content.

I cant figure out how to do the "incorrect content id" it keeps sending me back to the same page.  If I click the "I believe this copyright claim is not valid."   It lists a bunch of options.  Most result in, "ya but, you still can use it"   Fair use is the only one that works, and they scare you about lawsuits.  I am not going to push it, I will just upload to my site, and password protect it, which is essentially what I was trying to do by marking it unlisted.

It says "Your video is blocked in 243 countries". next line says " Your video is still available in 243 countries "  My aunt in vegas cant view, but I can still view in my office (not logged in), doesnt make sense.

Maybe I just got unluckly with that song, since it was involved in a big (and odd) lawsuit years back.  So perhaps the sniffers on it are extra sensitive.

It seems like they've really started cracking down on things since that one Bill made all that noise last year. I know I lost about half of my music 'favorites' to posters 'violating terms' or copyrights and being booted off just over the last two months.

All that and they have still not approved (thankfully) PIPA and/or SOPA   Confused

Imagine how it would have been if they had approved one of those...   Sad   Brick wall

So I uploaded 7 videos.

3 "matched third party content", so the software correctly id'd the song and owner, but obviously they dont mind.  Two are popular songs within the past few years.  One is a classical song.

3 showed no match.  1 is heavily edited and sampled.  1 is nothing that would be on itunes, and one I am not sure why no match.

So the 1973 version of Boogey Bugle, by Bette Midler is the only cease and desist.... Oh well. The password'd folder on site worked for that one.
