I own a cabled VP2, and I can also run a second cable eventually. Could it be a nice idea to buy a DFARS kit and then power the motor from the console cable or from a dedicated power supply? Did someone do it? I suppose the motor runs on about 3 volts, and if I  discover how much current if draws, I can see if it is feasible to power it from the same power that runs the SIM, given some diodes in series to reduce it from 5 to 3 volts.

Yes, I use a cabled VP2 with a daytime FARS that is powered 24/7 by a Radio Shack wall-wart.

I would not personally want to power it from the console.

Thanks for your answer. I suppose that I have to buy the complete kit with the (useless in my case) solar panels... well, I can build something else with that panel.

See this topic:  http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=11585

Or just go to Radio Shack:

Oops - I forgot you are in Italy.

Thanks.

So 3 volts will be fine, I will recycle some old computer equipment power supply. I remember I have a 3 vdc 100 mA or so somewhere. Maybe 100 mA will be enough. If not, I will find a better power supply. I don't like running the motor at more than 3 volts, even if it will become a great insect-blender, I suppose.
