Tonight was fantastic.  Great severe storm developed to the north and slid south east towards us.  Just as it got to the north it took a bit of an easterly jog and missed us except for some nice 3/4in hail and some of the most prolific lightning I've ever seen. The wind was dead calm.  Amazing storm.  So I got some pics from my front porch.  I've decided that chasing literally two feet from your front door and in your under ware is the best thing ever. Wonderful images, first shot is my favourite!

What lens/shutter/f-stop are you using? Looks like there was still some daylight to help illuminate the storm. Beautiful images!

Thanks I had to kind of ruin the quality for the internet because I was shooting in RAW so they come out of the camera at something like 50mb.

I was on my 18-135mm at 18mm lens f3.5 I started with a 10 second exposure but ended up at 8 I think.  There was no daylight, there was just that much lightning.  These were taken after 10pm.  I typically shoot lightning at more like 5.6 and just hold the shutter open until I see a strike but since I was in town with street lights and so much lightning I decided to try 3.5 with shorter exposures.  I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out.  Thanks everyone for looking!

lol, I suppose that is very true.  Don't worry guys, I'd never expose you to pictures of me, especially in my undies.  You wouldn't sleep for weeks.

GREAT shots there. I hope none were "over expossed" lol Being disabled here the most chasing I do is in my yard too or on my electric scooter in the area, but never in my underware on my scooter lol.
Hope to get some storm pix myself this week if we see any action here.
