Anyone knows why the NOAA atom advisory doesn't post tornado or severe thunderstorm watches or warnings to the website?
Thanks

The same thing happened here. I don't know what went wrong on their end. It was very upsetting, considering the threatening weather. I fixed it for my location by changing the local code from OKZ020 to OKC119.

I had a wind advisory, severe thunderstorm warning, tornado watch, and a special weather statement all at the same time Saturday and the only thing posted was a wind advisory. How would I fix mine. I'm in the dodge city Kansas forecast area?
Thanks

Here is the list of COUNTY CODES in Kansas http://alerts.weather.gov/cap/ks.php?x=3I've been using my county code for several months because I often have trouble with the zone code.

Is that your county code? Yes, that would be his county code. Zone codes will have Z as the third character County codes will have a C as the third character ...plus the number will most likely be different, so be sure to look it up.

I changed the code from KSZ031 (zone code) to KSC051 (county code) on settings.php. Will that do it?

Mine has never displayed convective warnings. I never thought about it, but being a NWS employee, I should have realized that warnings use county codes.

However, Special Weather Statements and Long-Fused products all use zone codes, so which would be use?

I see Special Weather Statements using my county code. Don't see Short Term Forecast or Hazardous Weather Outlook.

Is this correct? Whatever you ended up doing seems to have worked. When I "view source" I see KSC051 mentioned in a comment inside the <div class="advisoryBox">

So what's the difference between the zone and county codes? What does each one post?

hayskstornado,
In some NWS offices the county codes are for things like fire weather watches/warnings, flood watches/warnings, and tornado watches/warnings. The zone codes are used for less area specific watches/warnings. Also in some NWS Areas the zone and county warning areas cover the exact same geographic areas. That is not the case here in New Mexico.

Only thing I've ever seen since feb was wind advisory and frost advisory. So how do I know if Kansas is like new Mexico? Trial and error? Is there a way to add both county and zone codes? I'm in the dodge city Kansas forecast area. Thanks

this is a problem I addressed with the webmasters of weather.gov when they were testing the ATOM feeds. All short term advisories are issued by county long term by zone.. But the ATOM feed does not know this so in order to obtain all the WWA's for your area you need to make two calls to the service, one to get the short term and again to get the long term.. they could make it like the old system was .. but then again this is the Government
