I have been with out a PC for my weather station ever since I went to a Mac. I love the Mac, but the software for the weather stations just isn't as handy as VWS.

So, I am thinking about getting a netbook to run it. Does anyone know where to find the system requirements for VWS? Will it run on this:

The requirements are on the download page

Code:
Operating System Requirements
Any Windows 32 or 64 bit operating system, including 95/98/NT/2000/2003/ME/XP/Vista/Windows7

Pretty much no "hardware" requirements.  And on the OS side pretty open.
This netbook would do fine.

Andrew

ps: you have 15 days to try it out anyway, based on the walmart return policy on electronics.

I have pretty much that netbook bought at Walmart and as stated it runs VWS just fine, my only problem is that I forgot where I was when I bought it and I'm in MX, so the thing was the Spanish version, I had to load an English copy of Vista I had laying around, but the keyboard is still Spanish.

Thanks guys.

I once bought my daughter a video game for our gamecube in England. Who knew it wouldn't work in the US.

I think I remember reading here sometime that VWS won't run with Windows Starter.  I may be misremembering.

I am using a netbook with very similar specs.   I am running Virtual VP, VP Live, WUHU, and team viewer all at the same time with no problem.

I somtimes also run Weather LInk and Cumulus.

I don't use  VWS but all of the other programs run fine at the same and the OS is Windows 7 starter.

I guess if windows 7 starter is still a no.... Ed should edit his "Any Windows...." descriptor.

Well, I didn't see these additional notes about Windows Starter edition and went out and bought it. What to do now?

ebay

WindowsºXPºPROºProfessionalºSP3ºFull with COA  <$30.00

Weather Programs, in general, do better on XP rather than newer versions.

For VWS, 1GB of DDR3 RAM is not very much memory. Especially if you do other work on it besides that.

I've used that much for years now with no problem. I've got everything including the kitchen sink running on it.
