We've got 0.4" since midnight in Northwest Phoenix and it's still coming down hard with plenty of wind ! I'm thinking that the washes are going to be flowing by the time the sun comes up. Everyone be safe out there !

This is sure a nice break to one of the driest winters I can ever remember.

Glad to hear you all get some rain; the drought monitor has looked pretty rough in that section of the country lately.

...we (NNE of Cortaro, AZ) had a hail downburst this morning at about 0700, large "pea"-sized.

We're about done up in this section of the desert. We got another 0.1 inch during some brief downpours yesterday, so total storm left us with just over 0.5 inch of rain. Not bad !

Views of the Bradshaws are beautiful this morning! Snow-covered and shining bright in the sun. I'm glad I'm not up there right now, however.

Now my next concern is what all this moisture is going to do for undergrowth up in the mountains. Come June, it could be very bad news for forest fires. I had enough of those last year with the Wallow fire.

Finally got our first real rain of the year here in NE Phoenix - 0.51". I know - for a lot of you that's peanuts, but for us still in a multi-year drought it's badly needed.

0.30 inches in the Piestewa Peak area of Phoenix.  Not much but it rained off and on for 12 hours.  My first rain in 90 days.
