When installing weather station (climate or micro climate) station in the field or farm many problem are come-out,.

such-as battery low power, extreme condition like hight heat sunlight made data logger not logging or stop logging for while,.
and that made data blank for several hours, in Indonesia  most trouble when air is too wet or too humid, and made hobo micro logger stop working,
that maybe can resolved bay adding silica gel to shelter or logger box, but data blank must can be filling for analyzing data,

there was some method  can resolve serial time (time series) data like ARMA and ARIMA model, or using matlab for some-people that understand and have'it

the method must as simples as  possible that can be applied to other developing tool like c# or c++,  but still rational for and not spiking up and down.
for example Radiation Global must measure ind 1 minute interval, and make report or analyzing in hourly to compare effective photo synthesis time, that data really important to calculating sugar contain on fruit or oil contain in palm oil.

let thinks about it.    resolve data gap filling

The larger the gap, the less likely the  fill-in data will be reliable.  Anything over about an hour would be a SWAG at best in my area.

You could also use the data from a nearby station or correlate yours with one...  remember lapse rates and lags.  Or just use the more reliable gage to begin with.  d'oh!  There are some real stinkers on Wunderground especially for rain data.  Always check yours for bird nests and check your rain gage against the ballpark radar.  Some of these rain gage operators are from Mars.... no rain there... and they do not care about ever filling in... just straight line it is their motto.  Mad

Nice to hear from someone that cares!

(Edit)  I forgot you wanted solar radiation.  See my webpage here:

Hi Old Teleman,

I do not know what wx info is but I assure I know what hottest in the nation is... and it is not Bullhead City or Gila Bend or even Yuma... let's just leave it at that. Wink

Yes I used to fly in on a small charter to Yuma a few times a year and summer was no picknick.  Waiting for take off you better have some beer or you would fry your brain waiting to gain altitude... so they always had free beer and a bag of ice to put in your shirt.

Did you ever look for rattlesnakes at night as a kid in Yuma?  Remember swamp coolers in Yuma?  Mesa or Valley?  Fill in those gaps.

And I would not know copyright from copywrong so who cares.  d'oh!

You do not have to have a (C) or Copyright statement on your  stuff for it to be protected by copyright.

You do not have to have a (C) or Copyright statement on your  stuff for it to be stolen, either.

In Law it's called "due diligence." In plain-speak, it's called "C.Y.A."

Copyright notice was required under the 1976 Copyright Act. This requirement was eliminated when the United States adhered to the Berne Convention, effective March 1, 1989. Although works published without copyright notice before that date could have entered the public domain in the United States, the Uruguay Round Agreements Act (URAA) restores copyright in certain foreign works originally published without copyright notice.

But go ahead - add all the notices you like.
