Having an issue both with WD and WL.  Using  VVP on TCP/IP to run several different programs(just for fun).  For some reason  WL and WD keep timing out. WL says something about that the connection has timed out and  wont connect to station until i reboot  startwatch(which reboots all my programs). Any ideas?

Too many software programs?
What version of the logger?
What version of Windows?
Have you tried running just one of the programs (WL or WD) alone, and without VVP?
What else are you running besides WL and WD (and VVP)?
Why do you have to run startwatch, in the first place?

Yea and it does it sometimes, although its been up over 24hrs now with no issue and im running all my programs
my list=P
WL
VWS--also on main pc
Cumulus
Weather View
VPLive
WD
Start watch
VVP
Storm Predator-on main pc

i run start watch so things get monitored and if they crash it will handle it for me. its a wx pc and i dont touch it unless there is an issue.

What version of the logger?

I meant "USB Logger" or "Serial Logger" or "WLIP".

Do I count correctly that you are running 6 "weather programs", all using VVP to "share" one logger?
[WL, VWS, Cumulus, Weather View, VP Live, and WD]

Have you tried running just one of the programs... alone, and without VVP?

Do I correctly infer that you are saying that everything has always functioned correctly ("Never had an issue before"), and nothing was recently changed (software or hardware or updates), and suddenly there's an issue with timeouts, and startwatch doesn't fix it?

How about this quote: "VirtualVP is a software application that lets you connect up to 4 weather programs to a single Davis Vantage Pro 1 or 2 weather station (console or Envoy)."

From  http://www.softwx.com/weather/virtualvp.html

[And I'm not sure I know what you mean by "after a year of being down" and "after reoading everything".  Do you mean that you weren't doing this for the past year, and just started doing it, and are now having problems?]

Are you using the most current versions of all of those 7 programs (including VVP)?

Sorry I tried to help.  First it looked like you were talking about a new problem with a system that had been up and running for some time, and was having a new problem.

Having an issue both with WD and WL.  Using  VVP on TCP/IP to run several different programs(just for fun).  For some reason  WL and WD keep timing out. WL says something about that the connection has timed out and  wont connect to station until i reboot  startwatch(which reboots all my programs). Any ideas?

After a lot of discussion, we find out that:

sorry, havent had any programs up for a year due to a system crash. brand new computer and fresh reloads.  think we are ok now.  everything is still working=)  Did a test power failure and  everything comes up and stays up. Now time to rebuild my website (ugh).  I do under stand it says 4 ut it works with more? lol.

Never had an issue before so i think ...

So, a year later, with a new and different computer, reloads of all software, etc. running 6 weather programs, and exceeding stated capabilities of one program, .........

If I had known that in the first place, I would not have had any clue how to try to help, and would not have tried.  As it is, I didn't help.

I'm glad it's working for you, and hope it keeps working.
