Hi Hewy. Perhaps Dimitris can help if he sees this. Here's a thread where he's helping another member with this.

Thank you Dan
Hi Hewy
Suddenly stops the same time and the two sensors ?
The day when stop work, you have near thunderstorm ?
I beleive you put out the batteries from out remote sensors ,and console, you let 30 second and after you put again the batteries  first the out remote sensor and after at console.
You check the batteries if is ok ?
You check if have inside very humidity or it have inside water ?

If you have make all this

After check all the circuit and you see maybe there is bad sticker from soldering iron at modification components.

Thanks guys
Unfortunately I've tried pretty well every combination of powering down the unit.
Yes Dimitri one of the units was the one I mount on my r.v. and there was a thunderstorm
in the area before it quit.
The other I was just running at my house, probably the rf interference I was talking with you about earlier
other than that nothing out of the usual has happend
                                                                                                             Cheers

Just out of curiosity will either of them still come up running in wired mode? Could narrow down the problem area to the transmitter (repairable) or processor sections.

Yes one of them does ,but I have only run it very briefly so as not to fry anything else until I'm sure it's safe to do so.

Hey I was mssing around with some other boards I found, and tested one of them.
Much to my suprise the board works awsome, excet for the fact the humidity /temp sensor is pooched.
I've read up on replacing it with a sensirion sht11 sensor, but at $33.40Cdn it not really worth it.
My second idea was to carefully cut the pc board on one of the other board that I know has a working unit
and just piggy back it on the old one then just do a little wiring magic.
I would like your thoughts good idea? or just by another hygrometer from great big outlet??

That should work if you're careful. That's basically what I had to do with my 2810. A tiny critter got inside the sensor and ruined it. A shop in Bangkok had the SHT11 for about $18 inc. shipping so I ordered one. I just cut the circuit traces to the bad one and installed the replacement above it, supported by it's 4 connections.  As you said, cut the good one out you intend to use vs. desoldering it to minimize the possibility of heat damage to it. Also on the good board you're going to use, cut the traces to the bad sensor chip as close to it as possible to be sure to include those tiny capacitors in the circuit.

That other thermo/hygro sensor you mentioned worked in wired mode sounds like the transmitter portion may just need a closer look.

Good luck!

Hi Hewy
My opinion is better desoldering the humidity sensor from the other board with a soldering iron until 18 watts or if you have soldering station 240-280 c ,or like yours idea you can  cut the pcb board careful like photo and with extra wiring to connect the other board.

sensirion sht11 is expensive $33.40
A new out remote sensor it have $34.75

Good luck ,and we wait your news.

Thanks for the picture Dimitri,I think with a little caution and patience it should go quite well>
does anyone have any ideas of how to deal with the static issue?
I was thinking maybe some sort of faraday cage but that would limit you to
only running wired.
I guess you could run a small piece of solid copper wire (awg12) at the top of your mast and
attach a static arrestor to it.

Hewy
Easy way a faraday box with sanitas foil (with ground) all arround out remote humidity sensor let only the holes without sanitas foil, but it cut more the wireless signal like correct you said ,(console - out remote sensor must it near distance).
