Well, I think we dodged a bullet.  It went to the north of us about 20 miles (actually I think it's going to peter out).  This isn't supposed to start for another couple of months.

I was wondering, do you have a way to stay in contact with the outside world while you're out in your shelter. cell phone, wifi in range, etc.?

Glad to hear that one passed you up.

Yeah, we have cell phones, and with the wireless modem, we can take a laptop to watch the radar, too.  Maybe later on this year or next, we'll get electricity run out there.

It rained some this morning, and was cloudy all day, but the rain had stopped and there wasn't anything in the state on the radar this evening.

Laying around relaxing with weather the last thing on my mind when the weather radio alarm went off and there's a tornado warning.  Out of nowhere.  Wow.   Temp 65F, dewpoint 61F, not really what I'd call tornado weather.  I think it's going to stay to the south of me, but I guess I'll have to keep one eye on the radar for a while.

I guess it could have been worse, 2AM and you at work. Wacky weather this spring for you all.

If there had been a tornado, I thin it would have only been an f-1, the cloud tops were only 20,000 feet.  It's a really odd scenario with that big low and occluded front and it's not moving very fast.  I think it caught the NWS off guard, too.  There wasn't even a watch box.

It looks like now that the whole thing has picked up speed and moving with the low's center coming right across your area.

The front has just come through.  There's a line to the west that's connected to the Low that's connected to the front that's yet to come by.  This has been a very complex system.  Those warnings last night really appeared out of nowhere.  It's all my fault for having off days and vacation.  You would have thought I washed the car.   d'oh!

Well let's just hope the tail end of that thing doesn't have any 'surprises' with it as it passes. You didn't have plans to cut the grass during your time off did you?

Gonna have to make time!  LOL  Everything is growing.  If it will ever dry out, I'll till the garden and get it planted.
