I wonder if there is anyway to personalize the text shown on the consul? I believe the text comes from Davis weatherlink and then displayed on WD which then puts it on my webpage. Be cool to have the forecast with  a few bits of Scots thrown in!

it is technically possible, but requires editing the Bin file for the firmware. I have attempted this, but get checksum errors when I come to load it up.

If you are referring to the forecast text, actually, that is generated by WD. The console doesn't output such text.

Is this using the direct-from-PC, or an updater. I ask because their are a couple bytes I believe may be a crc, but I haven't yet been able to correlate them to anything.

this was with an updater, I didn't pursue it much further, but I will once I get more time on my hands.

Still haven't completely figured this out, but I may have a way to at least bypass it. This assumes the message is "CRC ERR".
