Hi Dan S,
Thanks  Very Happy

In Australia & New Zealand weather data is recorded from 9am one day to 9am the next day (a Meteorological Day), rather than from Midnight to Midnight like it is in most other countries.
That is there to let people know that most observations recorded are since 9am of that morning (except Minimum temperature).

Thanks for the explanation, I didn't realize that. What's the recording times for daily minimum temperature?

Minimum temperature is also 9am to 9am, though it is a little different.

For example, say the date was 16th January.
For the 16th January, the minimum temperature is the lowest temperature recorded between 9am on the 15th and 9am on the 16th, 90% of the time that low occurs during the early hours of the morning on the 16th.
The maximum temperature registered for the 16th of January however is the highest temperature recorded between 9am on the 16th and 9am on the 17th, again 90% of the time that high occurs during the afternoon on the 16th.
Rainfall is the same as the minimum temperature, the rainfall marked agains the 16th is the total of the rain that fell between 9am on the 15th and 9am on the 16th.

For here today (22nd Feb, as of 3:30pm):
Min temp for today is: 21.9C/71.4F at 4:59am (lowest from 9am on the 21st to 9am this morning).
Max temp so far has been: 33.3C/91.4F at 12:46pm (highest from 9am today to 9am tomorrow).
Rainfall for today was 0.2mm/0.008in (total amount recorded between 9am on the 21st and 9am this morning).

pvwxaustralia....welcome to the forum. Very nice website. Very interesting about the 9am-9am measurements.

If I were there, I'd be on the beach and my measurements would be from the first Fosters to the last one... Dancing Dancing Dancing

Interesting that people in America think everyone in Australia drinks fosters, no-one over here even drinks it, I don't even know where you buy it from over here, i've never seen it in any grog shops.

Anyway, for those of you that have to put up with the dodgy imperial measurement system  Laughing  Laughing  Applause (That's everyone in America, as the rest of the world uses Metric, haha joking). I've recently changed my weather observation pages over to use PHP to display the variables and implemented a simple PHP that would convert all the figures to imperial so those under that system can actually understand what my readings mean, here's my imperial page: http://aspgweather.netne.net/cumulus/imperial.html

Lovely conditions here at the moment for early Autumn, a little wet at the moment, 22.8'C (73.0'F).
