I moved my anemometer to the chimney last week.   This week I raised the bottom strap along with the mast one foot.  This leaves 2 ft between the straps and 8 ft above the chimney.   This puts anemometer just over 6 ft above roof line.  Mast is 1 1/4" EMT from Home Depot

(see.. http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=14361.0 for pics prior to change)

Several web sights stated...  "If the mast must be 10 feet above the chimney top, don’t use a chimney mount unless you can space the straps at least 30 inches apart. For masts less than 10 feet above the chimney top, the straps should be spaced no less than 24 inches apart."

http://www.dennysantennaservice.com/1170999.html

So with my mast 8 ft above chimney, I fall into the guidelines with 2 ft spacing.  If I could find solid pole a little longer, I would replace mast so I could increase distance between straps.

Anyway, just wanting to get others thoughts on instillation.  We get some high straight line winds here every year (up to 60 MPH).

That looks like a very well done installation. The only thing that I would do next (not to sound picky) is relocate anything that's near the ISS that can absorb and radiate heat, like that black grill. Just open grass around the ISS. Wink Otherwise, well done.

Looks good it should befine, I'd just let it go for a year, see how it works. Mine isn't the greatest, flexes a bit in high winds, but a least on the roof. I installed about a year ago, probably will replace batteries and see if I can beef it up a bit. 49.5 mph highest recorded gust.

I think you'll be fine.
60mph is high but with 1-1/4 pipe that set up isn't coming down anytime soon.
Although, looking at the picture again is that plastic ties that I see holding the anny to the pipe? Probably not, just ties holding the wire to the mast.
IF so that should be replaced with u-bolts.
