Max,

fear not, your logger will be with you very soon. Once it's up and running I look forward to seeing the fruit of your efforts.

Hi all,

Well I spent yesterday afternoon re-siting my Vue as I wasn't happy with the wind accuracy behind my house, it wasn't ideal. Fortunately, my very good neighbour across the road owns the field opposite us and was more than happy for me to stick the weather station up there. Safe to say he received a nice bottle of wine as a thanks.

So far it's looking as if the wind is much more accurate. I think the station was much too close to the house before and this was causing bad readings.

Max,

will you be uploaiding your data to a website?

I've been uploading to Wunderground since last Saturday (thanks to your logger of course) and you can view it here http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=ICARMART10. I am in the process of doing an AJAX website too using the Saratoga PHP scripts. Will most likely add it to my signature when I'm happy with it  Very Happy

Here are some updated pictures..

Taken from the upstairs window with a long lens.. the station is about 100m away from this point (this is why the trees in the background look closer than they are). Wireless communication to the console working perfectly!

Closeup with the ISS.

Overview of the setup

Cheers all!
Max.

That's a very secure looking setup!  It should do you well.   Applause

Hopefully it will! I would have guyed it three ways, but the field is used for sheep part-time during the year. I think the pole by itself would have been OK but the two wires as it is now have certainly stiffened it up and I'm quite happy.

Looks great... if you can afford another console,  I'd let the neighbor use it in kindness for the use of his field.

Not sure I could justify the cost of an extra console! If I ever upgrade to a VP2 then it could be a possibility.
