Well I just talked to Nathan Parker of Weatherbug and some new changes are in way for 2012 and the backyard community. Just wanting to get some ideas on what you would want out of the WB backyard stations? Anything from the PWS station layout, to the features and tools to help make WB backyard better. Nathan is open to comments and ideas, I told him I would do the honers of pooling some ideas so we can a consensus of what's wanted.

The one most glaring omission that I find about their website is not posting tabular or any historical data for backyard stations.
I have Cumulus sending my station data to them every 15 minutes, but there is no record other than the current conditions.

Their desktop application might support this but I never installed it, and don't plan to.

Add the ability to place your personal weather station as the home page in the Weatherbug Elite android app that I bought. Something that they keep saying will be done but they never seem to get there. Always "soon".

I've talked to Nathan as well when we were working with the API to get Lightsoft Weather Center sending to WeatherBug. As of now, there's no way to tie your weather station feed to your WeatherBug Backyard profile. There's no relationship whatsoever. You can't feed a web cam, either. I ended up putting links to both in my Backyard profile, but that should be better integrated.

On the Mac side, there isn't a desktop application. He said they're working on one for v7.

Thanks for collecting this info,

Good feedback. Our CTO informed me of some changes that does seem we're going to try to do more with historical data and not just current obs. I'll give your feedback though to him and let him know you want to see more historical data.

WeatherBug on the desktop wouldn't help you much there. The Plus version includes historical data for our Professional stations, but neither versions include historical data for Backyard Stations. Good feedback to consider for future versions though.

Instead of posting feedback here, from this point forward, please post over to this thread:

http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=14549.0

Seems we're getting more posts over there, so let's place all future discussions here. All the feedback here though I'll go ahead and forward to the right people. Thanks for sharing!
