Death toll up to 52 now. Man this is sad.
Sounds like even having a weather radio wouldn't have helped. These were some very violent storms.
Couldn't have had a worse scenario with a massive outbreak occurring at night. Sad
Confirmed. 67 tornado's last night Shocked

Yeah. I couldn't believe the death toll. Who expects tornadoes in January, of all times?

It is very sad.  The fact that NWS/TWC/NOAA and every local station talked in great depth about what was going to happen.  We were put into a PDS Warning hrs before.  I made sure I stayed awake until 400a, even though we have the county siren 500ft from us.  I woke my son and wife 2 times to get into our closet, shortly after 230a.
I captured this after 2a from my StormLab.  We live up by the "08" in the date.

We spent some time in our "scardy hole".  My software was going crazy!  I kept hearing "Mesocyclone detected", "Severe Meso Detected', and the dreaded "TVS detected", VIL Limit Exceeded, throughout the night.

We were lucky.

That's pretty amazing. Ocala, get ready the next couple of days. Possible severe weather headed for Florida with possible tornadic activity. We shall see.
