Other than the information available in the Reports menu?

Define reliable?

"Reliable" = something more precise than setting a fixed threshold for the bright sunshine...
Something that keeps into account the solar radiation according to the season automatically, given latitude and longitude of the station.
Thanks in advance.

Not a plug-in and still very much a beta program with certain residual bugs (but not in bright sun calculations AFAICR), but you might be interested to have a play with WeatherlinkReporter-ME at:

http://www.prodata.nildram.co.uk/

(I think that download still works but PM me if not - must move this download to a more recent piece of webspace)

This download is more for someone who doesn't mind playing with experimental software so if you're only happy using final-release versions then this may not be for you. But with one or two minor exceptions (Tn from memory) the results should be reliable. One day I'll get round to polishing and finishing this utility, but I have other urgent projects to do first.

That's interesting.  Of course, here in the US, "bright sunshine" doesn't seem to be a big thing.

Off-topic, but could you point me to a reference or two that explains how the definition includes the season (and of course latitude)?

dalecoy, there are calculations to do that (based on your lat/long and time of day/time of year)

Off topic, but I do understand that there are calculations that give the maximum hours of bright sunshine for any day and latitude.  And whether (at any particular time of day on that day and latitude/longitude) there could be bright sunshine.  I know where to find those formulas and calculators.

Sorry my question wasn't clear.

nikgelfi asked for a WL plugin for bright sunshine hours.  I thought the request was for a plugin to give bright sunshine hours experienced, based on the solar radiation sensor measurements.  Which was why I wondered how that measurement is to be compensated for day of the year and latitude.

Apparently, nikgelfi wants something that accurately calculates the theoretical maximum, given day and location.  So, I apologize for asking an unnecessary (and off-topic) question.
