Mariana Trench is "outworldly" ? desolate? No, really! I would never have guessed.

Where's the science here?

I think it's pretty amazing that we can get down that far. At 16000 lbs per square inch just designing a sub to handle that pressure is nuts. Imagine 3 full size pickups  sitting on you thumb.
Maybe it's just me but I think it's pretty cool.

Yeah, that part about the sub being compressed 3 inches amazed me.

I think it is, too.  It's really a feat of engineering.   Think

I just thought that headline was kind of obvious.

It was on all the news a couple of days ago.  Supposedly the wife had been cramming for final exams the night before and was brain dead.  However, I don't know if the cramming was the cause of that or not!   Dancing

But it's supposed to be real.

Here are the notes for the exam that caused her to be up late studying.

"Take one lace in each hand and make an X. Draw the top lace through the bottom of the X and pull the two laces tight. Then make a loop out of each lace. Hey, look — bunny ears.   Cross one "ear" over the other, in the opposite order of your overhand knot. Explain how "the bunny runs around the tree" by bending one loop over the other — one ear has become a tree.  Now "the bunny sees a dog and jumps in the hole": Pass the tip of the bent ear through the hole. Pull loops tight. For extra security, you can double the knot by making another overhand knot with the loops.  There, you are a big girl now.........."

Hope her hubby slowed the car down, and stopped at a shoe store, to get some velcro ones for her......
