Well after some talking on WXQC about sending solar data to MADIS others stated it would be too expensive to add for solar. Although CWOP/APRS has support for solar, MADIS doesn't have access to it because Findu (middleman) stands in the way. I offered a fund raiser. I'm currently talking to the NWS about supporting the idea of adding solar to Findu. But I need a consensus from a larger forum community.

seeminlgy CWOP is going to proccess solar (luminonsity)

WD was not handling over 1000 watts correctly

I have fixed that now in a new update

but the admin of the CWOP servers will have to allow that fix through (currently the wrong formated data is being ignored from WD)

I see it in the raw data stream, do you know if they will be breaking it out and graphing solar?

I noticed solar in now being graph on CWOP but doesn't show the current readings nor does the data show up on Mesowest. Not shure when MADIS will if ever pass the solar data on but after talking to the NWS they do seem to have an intrest in solar data. NOAA owns 6 or 7 "sundecks" or solar data collection sites across the nation and as solar info is becoming more and more important I'm shure it won't be long before the demand for it will push MADIS over that "edge". Well lets keep our fingers crossed.

PS does anyone know a fellow by the name of Ted Lum?

I noticed solar in now being graph on CWOP but doesn't show the current readings ...

The graph wattage values are in the right column. The most recent update interval Luminosity (WM²) value is listed toward the end raw weather/APRS data string following the "L"

Right now there are only three spaces, I'll be interested to see what happens when the solar radiation exceeds 999W.

[edit]  Now I see, it drops the uppercase L in the string when the value exceeds 999 [/edit]
